Mudhen Rugby

30 Years of Empowering Womxn Through Rugby!

Hatched in The fall of 1993…

The Emerald City Mudhens are a staple in the Seattle rugby scene. With one team currently represented in the PNRFU, three back-to-back PNRFU Championships under our belt, and an eye on the National Title, the Mudhens are an unstoppable force in D2 Womxn’s Rugby.

Since our inception, the Mudhens have always been about more than just sport. Being a Mudhen is an opportunity to see the Pacific Northwest (usually via roadtrip - BYOsnacks), to create community, and to volunteer and organize within the greater Seattle community.

Mudhens currently range in age from 19 to 39, hail from all over North America, and hold careers in education, construction, biochemistry, the local food movement, and more. Some of us spend our off-season Saturday nights dancing while other’s play Rummikub, but come rugby season, we all spend Saturday nights together.

We are a badass, tackle-breaking, try-scoring team.

We are Mudhen Rugby.
